Quality Assurance Lab Technician

Akron-based latex manufacturer is seeking an experienced and skilled Quality Assurance Lab Tech to join their team on 1st shift. 

SHIFT: 1st (7a-3:30p) Mon-Fri

PAY: $15-17/hr. Based on Experience

This position will spend 70% of the time in the lab and the other 30% in the QC Department. 

MUST have lab experience and solid computer knowledge. 

Main Job Duties Include:

·        Assist in the evaluation of prepared compounds for compliance of required specifications and preparation of certificate of analysis

·        Demonstrate ability to follow standard operating procedure and perform all liquid physical tests for quality assurance checks including:

o   Total condensed solids

o   pH

o   Swollen Diameter

o   Mechanical Stability

o   Precure (Chloroform)

o   Brookfield Viscosity

o   Zahn

o   Ammonia

·        Demonstrate ability to perform routine test equipment calibration and develop working knowledge of said equipment

·        Demonstrate ability to follow standard operating procedures and perform all film physical tests for quality assurance checks including:

o   Tensile (Current/Aged)

o   V-tear

o   Permanent Set

o   Durometer

·        Ability to use appropriate computer-based technology

·        Communicate written/verbal information and data to co-workers

Skills Required:

·        Highly proficient Microsoft Office applications skills, particularly Excel

·        Proficient in Basic Math

·        Legible Handwriting

·        Strong communication and organizational skills

·        High School Diploma / G.E.D.

·        Background Check and Drug Screen
