What are the responsibilities and job description for the 3rd shift Material Handler position at Accutech Mold & Machine, Inc?
Position Summary: Sunday Night-Friday morning. 11:00pm-7:30am (O/T required)
Operates forklift and other equipment to move and distribute materials. A materials handler takes material from one location to another and may be involved in the process of extracting and loading the material to be transported. Must be available to work all shifts.
Responsibilities
Loads, unloads, and moves materials within or near plant performing any combination of following duties: Reads work order or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.
- Operates, navigates, or drives mechanized material handling equipment
- Conveys materials to or from storage or work sites to designated area.
- Lifts heavy objects by hand and cleans work area, machines, and equipment, using broom, rags, and cleaning compounds, to assist machine operators.
- Stock/inventory - ensures correct counts and weights are recorded.
- Ensures machines/dryers are supplied with correct resin and dryer temperature is set.
- Clean press, dryers, and grinders thoroughly during change over.
- Returns all resins, colorants, inserts, foam, and any relevant components for the previous job to correct storage area.
- Stages all resins, colorants, inserts, foam, and any relevant components for the job at the press.
- Ensures hoppers, grinders and material containers are properly labeled and has correct lot number
- Mix resins and colorants using the correct ration in the mixing area and ensures regrind is used.
- Empty trash cans recycle cardboard and sweeps/mops shop and warehouse floors to ensure they are clean and safe.
- Keep materials in warehouse and shop covered to ensure resins are not contaminated.
- Supply empty skids for production at the ends of the press aisles and employ containers, as necessary.
- Fill out logbook at shift’s end and review information with oncoming material handler.
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Preferred one year of material handler work experience - forklift, pallet jacks, carts, distribution, sorting, checking, and organizing.
- Ability to do basic math and writing
- Ability to provide attention to detail
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to safely operate forklift and other material moving equipment
- Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time
- Ability to read, understand and follow both verbal and written instructions
Special Position Requirements
- May be required to work overtime and/or on weekends
