SolidWorks Designer
Reports to Director of Engineering
Summary: Designs, develops, and enhances new and existing products. Provides engineering support for all aspects of foodservice equipment product line to ensure functionality, quality, cost, and schedule. Subject matter expert on SolidWorks Manage.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Uses sound engineering methods and tools to investigate, understand, and develop new practical designs, modifications to existing product lines, and material selections.
· Identifies any problems with the implementation or available resources that may affect the schedule or
budget and communicates such problems accordingly.
· Utilizes independent judgment, analyzes the risks of a new design or process and communicates results
to project engineer.
· Provides support to manufacturing to ensure products are fabricated and assembled based on the intended functionality of the design.
· Interfaces with others in the organization and customers to jointly determine customer needs and solutions.
· Administers templates for drawings, parts and assembly.
· Manages bill of materials, Excel Design, Title Block, General, Tolerance, Hole & Bend tables.
· Assists with PLM, product lifecycle management.
· Uses and administers SolidWorks Manage; document control, PDM and non-PDM documents.
· Creates and maintains workflows, folders, cards, dispatch scripts and reports, projects and cases, reports and dashboards.
· Other related duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience
· Associates degree; with strong aptitude for the other engineering discipline.
· Five years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Strong background with water, steam, pressure, vacuum, and heat transfer.
· Sheet metal design experience, with bend allowances and corner reliefs strongly preferred.
· Regulatory experience with UL, NSF, CSA, and CE.
· Knowledge of Drafting & Documentation Standards
· 5 years SolidWorks usage, solid parts, sheet metal parts, assemblies. CSWP or CSWE.
· 2-5 years SolidWorks EPDM experience.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of the job. This job is operated in a professional office environment, prototype lab, test kitchen, customer’s commercial kitchen, and shop locations. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.
