Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing incoming payments, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This role requires strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of corporate accounting practices, particularly in accounts receivable.
Duties
- Process and record all incoming payments accurately and timely.
- Manage accounts receivable aging reports to ensure timely collections.
- Reconcile discrepancies in accounts and resolve any billing issues with clients.
- Maintain accurate records of invoices, payments, and account statuses.
- Assist in preparing financial reports related to accounts receivable.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations and communication regarding billing and payment issues.
- Utilize accounting software such as PeopleSoft and Quicken for tracking payments and managing accounts.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP standards in all accounting practices.
- Provide support for telemarketing efforts related to collections as needed.
Experience
- Proven experience in corporate accounting or a similar role focused on accounts receivable is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical terminology is a plus but not required.
- Strong understanding of debits and credits within an accounting framework.
- Proficiency in using accounting software, particularly PeopleSoft and Quicken, is highly desirable.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills are essential for maintaining accurate financial records.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members to resolve issues promptly.
