Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Senior Control Systems Engineer at Ace Controls LLC in Humble, TX. As Senior Control Systems Engineer, you will design, develop, and analyze control systems, instrumentation, and related equipment. You will be responsible for reviewing and interpreting project plans & specifications to ensure all design requirements are met. Independently lead and oversee the design and drafting of complex electrical, instrumentation and control systems with minimal engineering support, and managing comprehensive technical construction plans and specification, including but not limited to Power Distribution, Lighting, Motor Controls, PLC/RTU controls, Network Architecture / Communications, Bills of Materials, Control Panel Layouts, wiring diagrams, Instrument Loop and I/O Schematic Drawings. Must have strong experience using the NEC codes & UL508A for sizing circuit breakers, motor starters & conductors. Your expertise will be essential in designing wiring diagrams with terminations for complete instrumentation interconnect wiring diagrams, ensuring proper connectivity and functionality as well as modifications and upgrade of existing control panels. This will involve coordinating with the design team to ensure all aspects of the project are addressed, and that the final designs are accurate and in compliance with industry standards and regulations.

- Works with documentation staff to get all required submittal documents to customers.
- Interpret plans and technical specification to develop bill of materials and instrumentation list required for system design.
- Review and correct control panel drawings and bill of materials from controls design team.
- Responsible for coordinating with customer on monthly bill cut-off dates.
- Attend project meetings with other contractors and customers.
- Maintaining project material and labor costing within budget.
- Estimate with scope, pricing updates and change orders.
- Understand P&ID Drawings
- Ability to create I/O lists and PLC diagrams
- Experienced in sizing power circuits for motor controls (circuit breakers, motor starters, conductor sizes)
- Knowledge with selecting and programming variable frequency drive & reduced voltage soft starters
- Knowledge with various process instruments for monitoring pressure, level, flow
- Selecting components for bill of materials
- PLC & HMI programming
