Job Description – Inventory and Quality Control Associate
The primary function of this warehouse position is to maintain accurate inventory levels and product quality.
An individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty listed below. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform daily inventory counts and audits and provide detailed documentation of results.
- Perform daily date checks and remove outdated product from inventory.
- Identify products in the Warehouse Management System; Identify code dates on products.
- Perform a full range of Inventory Reclass/Transfer functions.
- Follow up on customer complaints regarding food safety and quality concerns.
- Maintain damaged product areas and accurately record product to be discarded.
- Evaluate driver returned products and verify whether the product is safe to return to inventory.
- Operate an electric pallet jack (or other powered industrial equipment) to convey product through the warehouse.
- Maintain and safely operate all assigned equipment including, but not limited to, powered industrial equipment and personal protective equipment.
- Perform pre-trip inspections, and safely operate all powered industrial equipment.
- Shrink-wrap product on the loading dock.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Adhere to all safety practices and company policies and food safety principles. Immediately advise supervisor of any unsafe conditions.
- Attend all required company meetings.
- Perform related clerical tasks and audits to support warehouse logistics.
Qualifications
Education/Training
- Must be able to read, write and communicate in English as it relates to the job and safety requirements.
- Must have basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
- Warehouse experience preferred.
- Experience operating electric pallet jack or forklift preferred.
Physical Requirements: The physical requirements described here are representative of those required of an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Frequently lift, push, or move product that weighs 1-75 pounds, up to 100 pounds, using safe lifting practices.
- Frequently reach up to 72 inches to stack and unstack pallets.
- Constantly bend and twist while operating a pallet jack or other powered industrial equipment, retrieving items from lower shelf areas.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Must be able to work the assigned schedule.
- Must be able to use, or learn to use, all equipment and tools used to perform the job.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must successfully pass a controlled substance screening test.
- Must adhere to all safety practices and company policies.
- Able to work rapidly at a constant pace for the entire shift, in a fast-paced environment.
- Develop a working knowledge of the product.
- Must be able to work as a team and individually
- Must be able to follow directions
- Attention to detail is key in this position
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, an inventory/quality control associate will constantly work near powered industrial equipment and experience exposure to vibration and moderate to high noise levels.
The work environment includes congested and high traffic areas, slippery floors, working alongside forklifts, single pallet jacks, electric walk behind jacks and hand carts. Walking and working on concrete flooring. Duties will require working in varying climates. Temperatures range from below zero in the freezers to 95F degrees or above outdoors. The shift start and end-time fluctuates with the operation’s daily needs.
Schedule: Monday- Friday 8-5pm
Pay: $17/hr.
