What are the responsibilities and job description for the STRUCTURAL STEEL PROJECT MANAGER position at Ace Fabricators Inc?
Ace Fabricators Inc., based in Houston, TX, is an AISC-certified fabricator specializing in structural steel for commercial and industrial projects across Texas and Louisiana. We are currently seeking three to four (3-4) full-time, in-office Project Manage r to join our team. Remote positions are not available.
Responsibilities :
Coordinate with detailing companies : Manage RFIs, ensure coordination with other trades, etc.
Review contract documents (related to our scope of work) : Drawings, specifications, proposals, etc.
Review detailed drawing submittals : Perform scope checks, review approval submittals for changes, ensure all clouds are addressed, and oversee shop and field-issued drawings.
Coordinate deliveries : Work with general contractors to schedule steel, joist / deck, and bolt deliveries.
Review CPRs, ASIs, etc. : Manage changes (performing take-offs), issue change orders as needed, and follow up on change orders.
Address project issues : Handle any issues during detailing, fabrication, delivery, and erection.
Attend weekly meetings : Provide updates on job status and ensure team alignment.
Qualifications :
Minimum one year of experience in reading and interpreting architectural and structural drawings : Experience within the structural steel fabrication industry is highly preferred.
Essential Skills : Must have proven experience in reading and interpreting architectural and structural drawings. Candidates without this experience will not be considered.
Computer literacy : Proficiency with email and typing.
Strong organizational skills : Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Excellent communication skills : Capable of coordinating with detailing companies, general contractors, and other trades.
Experience with change management : Ability to review CPRs, ASIs, and issue change orders.
Problem-solving skills : Ability to address and resolve issues during detailing, fabrication, delivery, and erection.
Team player : Willingness to attend weekly meetings and provide updates on job status.
Full-time, in-office availability : Must be able to work on-site in Houston, TX.
Work week : 40-50 hours, Monday through Friday
