Job Title: QAQC Technician /Inspector – Construction
Job Summary:
The QAQC Technician/Inspector is responsible for overseeing the quality of materials, workmanship, and construction processes to ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and industry regulations. The role involves inspections, testing, documentation, and coordination between different teams to maintain high construction quality.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Quality Assurance:
o Develop, implement, and maintain the quality management system for construction projects.
o Ensure the construction process follows established standards, regulations, and guidelines.
o Review project specifications, drawings, and contract documents to ensure quality standards are met.
2. Quality Control:
o Conduct regular inspections and audits of construction activities and materials.
o Monitor the construction process to identify and correct any deviations from quality standards.
o Perform testing of materials (concrete, steel, asphalt, etc.) and ensure they meet project specifications.
3. Documentation:
o Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of inspections, test results, and quality reports.
o Prepare and submit detailed quality control documentation as required by the project stakeholders.
o Ensure proper documentation for approvals, non-conformances, and corrective actions.
4. Non-Conformance Management:
o Identify any deviations from quality standards, non-conformances, or defects during construction.
o Recommend and implement corrective actions to address quality issues and prevent recurrence.
o Work with the project team to resolve issues efficiently and effectively.
5. Collaboration and Communication:
o Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with quality standards.
o Provide training and guidance to construction teams on quality practices and procedures.
o Act as a liaison between the project team and external inspectors or regulatory bodies.
6. Inspection and Testing:
o Inspect construction materials and workmanship at various stages of the project.
o Perform tests on materials and equipment to verify compliance with the specified standards.
o Ensure all testing equipment is calibrated and maintained in proper working conditions.
7. Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance:
o Ensure that safety and environmental standards are incorporated into the quality control process.
o Monitor compliance with safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
8. Experience and Certifications:
o Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in construction quality control or quality assurance.
o Relevant QAQC certifications (e.g., ISO 9001, Six Sigma, NEBOSH) are an asset.
o High School diploma or GED
o AWS/CWI Certified
o NACE III Certification
o Advanced knowledge and experience of welding/coating procedures and processes.
o OSHA 10, 30, 510
9. Skills:
o Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and industry standards.
o Proficiency in quality control procedures and relevant software tools (e.g., MS Office, AutoCAD, or project management software).
o Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and communication skills.
o Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings.
10. Physical Demands
o The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
o Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position, and general hours of work and days are Monday through Thursday, 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
o Travel – may be required during working hours to various locations. Main position will be held in Hemet, California facility.
