Ace Hardware is looking for reliable full-time and part-time team members for their Seaside, OR location.

Job Summary
Provide outstanding customer service and teamwork to ensure a friendly, productive environment. Starting at $16.00 per hour, this position is ideal for someone who is enthusiastic and enjoys helping customers find products that fit their needs. Part-time and Full-time receive an employee discount after 90 days. Full-time receives medical/dental benefits after 90 days and 401k. As a team, members will be counting on you and other team members to be flexible with scheduling – this includes working weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Greet and assist customers to maintain the highest level of customer service.

· Suggest tie-in products that fit customers’ needs

· Stock shelves and keep store clean and orderly

· Scan customers items at the register quickly and correctly

· Encourage customer loyalty program sign-ups.

· Effectively operate a cash register including processing payments and counting change back accurately

· Thank customers for their business when they leave

· Communicate effectively with customers, fellow employees, and store management

· Know the basic store layout to assist customers in their selection of product and be able to answer customer questions about the entire store

· Help maintain a neat and organized store

· Stock, rotate and price merchandise

· Perform services for customers: key-cutting, paint mixing, etc.

· Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

· Friendly, attention to detail, helpful, customer-oriented personality

· An eagerness to learn about hardware products and share knowledge with others

· Demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills

· Basic computer and math knowledge is required

· Experience in retail with an understanding of home improvement, tools, gardening, painting, plumbing, electrical, auto, etc is preferred, but not required

· Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

· Flexible scheduling including weekends, evenings, and holidays is required

· Must pass a pre-employment drug screen (including drug screen for THC)
