Job Summary
We're looking for a Retail Sales Associate who is motivated and enthusiastic, to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for customer service and strong communication skills. As a Retail Sales Associate, your role will be crucial in providing an exceptional shopping experience, assisting customers with their needs, and driving sales through effective upselling techniques. Retired professionals and those with handyman experience and knowledge related to hardware store products will be encouraged and offered higher pay.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in locating products within the store.
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently, accurately handling cash transactions and credit card payments.
- Maintain knowledge of current promotions, sales, and product features to upsell items to customers effectively.
- Provide outstanding customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving complaints, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Supervise junior staff members as needed, fostering a positive team environment.
- Keep the sales floor organized and visually appealing by restocking shelves and arranging merchandise displays.
- Adhere to company policies regarding cash handling and register operations.
- Demonstrate phone etiquette when answering customer calls or inquiries.
Skills
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse clientele.
- Experience with cash handling and operating cash registers or POS systems.
- Ability to upsell products while maintaining a focus on customer needs.
