Position Summary:
As a Cashier at Ace Hardware, you will be the face of our store, providing excellent customer service while accurately processing transactions. You’ll assist customers with purchases, answer questions, and ensure that every visit is a positive experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet customers as they enter the store with a friendly and welcoming attitude.
- Process sales transactions quickly and accurately, handling cash, credit, and debit payments.
- Answer customer questions about products, services, and promotions.
- Help customers locate items in the store and provide product recommendations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cashier area.
- Assist with stocking shelves and ensuring the store is well-stocked.
- Work as a team with other store employees to ensure smooth store operations.
- Ensure all transactions are processed according to store policies and procedures.
- Assist with opening and closing duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (or in progress) is preferred.
- Previous cashier or retail experience is preferred but not required.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to handle cash and operate a register efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and work well with others.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays if needed.
