SUMMARY
Atelier Ace is the in-house creative studio that develops and operates Ace Hotel, Sister City, Maison de la Luz, and their partners and affiliates. The full-service studio is composed of multi-disciplinary thinkers, designers, architects, enthusiasts, optimists and friends with some number folks to keep things upright. With a creative and operations team that understands the essence of our brands and products, Atelier Ace aims to create inspiring, cohesive and meaningful experiences for people.


Guest Service Agents are responsible for both Front Desk and Reservations Agents responsibilities. Depending on demand and department needs, the Front Office Agent will work his or her shift either at the Front Desk or in Reservations. Make guests feel welcome. It is important to use common courtesy such as greeting, maintaining eye contact, smiling and engaging in simple and friendly conversations.


CORE FOCUS & ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Qualified candidates must be able to satisfactorily complete the following responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Greeting all guests and always ready to assist when needed.
  • Responsible for activity from the curb to the front desk, as well as to the public spaces and guest rooms.
  • Assist with luggage for all arrivals and departures.
  • Introduce guests to the Front Desk Agent.
  • Acclimate guests with the Ace Hotel and their room accommodations including wifi access, video on demand, navigation of tv and cable channels, utilizing turntables, climate controls.
  • Assist other team members when needed.
  • Communication with fellow Guest Service Agents and RBX Agent via radio and other handheld devices.
  • Proper handling of equipment such as radios, bell carts, luggage, luggage chex, keys, etc.
  • Keep storage area organized and clean.
  • Maintain current and accurate knowledge of events happening in hotel surrounding area / city, that are aligned with the Ace brand and culture by way of accessing the internet.

  • Ability to satisfactorily communicate in verbal and written English with guests, management, and co-workers to their understanding.
  • Prioritize and organize work assignments, have timely follow up and execution.
  • Have superb time management skills.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of all hotel services/features and hours of operation.
  • Other language, mathematical, and reasoning abilities as outlined below.
  • Ability to comply with physical demands as outlined below.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Atelier & Ace Culture & initiatives
  • Technologically sound with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations.
  • Manual dexterity for typing.
  • Flexible schedule required which includes weekends and holidays.


REQUIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Individuals should be a High School Graduate and/or any combination of experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and ability to effectively fulfill the requirements of this job description. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Previous experience in a hotel setting preferred.


LANGUAGE, MATHEMATICAL, and REASONING ABILITIES

Candidate must meet the following cognitive abilities:

  • Ability to understand guests’ service needs & requests.
  • Ability to acknowledge guests’ requests in a polite manner.
  • Ability to clearly communicate in verbal and written English (additional foreign languages are encouraged and preferred).
  • Ability to apply logical thinking and understanding to carry out written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to address and solve problems involving guest and operational issues.
  • Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The typical environment is an office atmosphere with ambient room temperatures, ambient lighting, and common office equipment.   • Sit, walk, and stand continuously.
  • Lift / carry 10lbs (frequently) and 25lbs (occasionally)
  • Bend, squat, crawl, and reach above shoulder level.
  • Use dominate hand coordination for simple grasping, pushing/pulling, and fine manipulation.
  • May be exposed to extreme temperatures, dust, dampness, height, and moving machinery.
