POSITION SUMMARY

The Machine Operator is responsible for overseeing daily operations at a worksite to ensure the completion of projects in a safe and efficient manner. Their duties include safely operating a variety of equipment. they must be able to skillfully operator all equipment, and keep communications consistent, including technical specifications between clients, crew leads, sub-contractors, and officials.

Machine operators play a critical role in the administration over new landscape construction installations along with daily collaboration with onsite crew leads. Operators contribute to our company’s overall mission by supporting a safe work environment, responsible stewardship of company assets, and overall excellence in every aspect of our business.

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES

• Has a minimum of 3 years of experience in landscape/construction

• Ensures all equipment arrives to jobs ahead of time or on schedule

• Operators all equipment safely & effectively

• Providing adequate support to meet project schedules, laws, regulations, best practices and safety need

• Regularly reporting project status to supervisors, site engineers and other officials

• Ensures that all safety procedures are followed and reports any unsafe conditions to supervisors.

• Looks for extras and converts them into change orders when appropriate.

• Ensures that company production standards are met.

• Fills out and processes all necessary job paperwork

• Interacts with clients, subcontractors, architects, etc. in a professional and competent manner.

• Maintains a high level of morale.

• Thoroughly understands and complies with company policies, procedures, and SOPs.

KEY COMPETENCIES

• Excellent technical skills and understanding of landscape construction methods, contracts, and blueprints

• Proven leadership skills and ability to delegate work and meet deadlines

• Must be able to read, understand, and communicate landscape plan drawings and specification documents.

• Must be self-motivated and possess strong leadership skills.

• Must be professional in appearance and actions.

• Must be detail oriented and quality driven.

• English and Spanish speaking required

• Attention to detail in the landscape environment, strong aesthetic sensibilities

• Problem Solving - Identifies and resolves problems efficiently; Gathers and analyzes information; Develops solutions; Works well in a group, problem-solving situations.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• 3 years of experience leading a landscape/construction crew

• Must be able to read landscape plans and take a job from start to finish.

• Must have a valid driver’s license, clean driving record and ability to drive a company vehicle.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to endure long hours sitting/standing on equip.

• Must be able to lift more than 80 pounds.

• Outdoor work in all types of weather conditions and exposure to the elements; including heavy to moderate noise and extreme proximity to moving equipment or machinery, electrical energy, and tools and machines regularly used in construction

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 – 32 per week
