Maintenance Technician

Location: Grand Rapids, MI
Shift Availability: Day Shift - Monday - Friday
Hourly Pay: $26.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected Hours: 40 – 50 per week

Position Overview

A growing industrial facility in the Grand Rapids, MI area is seeking a skilled Industrial Mechanic to maintain, repair, and optimize mechanical systems and equipment. This full-time position plays a key role in ensuring operational efficiency by minimizing downtime and maximizing performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, a team-first mindset, and a commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and diagnostics on industrial machinery.
• Conduct inspections and repairs on trailers and semi-tractors to ensure compliance and safety.
• Utilize welding and fabrication techniques for equipment modifications and repairs.
• Diagnose and maintain hydraulic systems and electrical controls.
• Maintain documentation of all maintenance activities and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Work collaboratively with other departments to implement process improvements.
• Promote a culture of teamwork, respect, and servant leadership.

Qualifications & Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent (technical/vocational training preferred).
• Proven experience as an industrial mechanic, preferably in a manufacturing or recycling environment.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills, including hydraulics, welding, and electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, manuals, and blueprints.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to maintenance.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently or in a team environment.
