What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial Planning and Analysis Manager position at Ace Sanitary?
Reporting directly to the Director, Financial Planning & Analysis this critical new addition to the corporate finance organization will be located in Cincinnati, OH. A successful candidate will exhibit a high level of passion for excellence, collaboration, and integrity. Winning in this role is accomplished by partnering with business leadership and cross-functional teams to support the development and execution of short, medium, and long term strategic and operational plans and identifying/managing key performance indicators that deliver improved forecasting and value creation.
Essential Responsibilities
- Assist in timely preparation of weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting with informative analyses and commentary that provides insights and actionable information in support of business decision making.
- Facilitate the annual strategic planning and budgeting financial process including managing the data collection and consolidation process with accounting resources and business and functional leadership; analyzing the information to validate completeness and accuracy with the goal of communicating trends and key drivers to executive leadership.
- Support cross-functional teams with ad-hoc and ongoing financial analysis for strategic initiatives (e.g. pricing, capital investment, cost efficiencies, etc.)
- Coordinate the cash forecasting process and communicate how the company is performing.
- Measure and communicate key financial levers and track key performance indicators to establish and effectively measure results and support decision making.
- Have a willingness to understand the business, end-markets, competitive environment, industry peer group and general economic conditions that impact the company.
- Understand and analyze business units’ monthly/quarterly financial results (versus forecast, prior year, budget) and clearly articulate themes and performance drivers; this includes driving efforts to understand root causes of variances and making recommendations to enhance business performance.
- Collaborate cross functionally in creation of analysis and presentations for executive leadership and board of directors.
- Develop and implement FP&A best practices, procedures and processes to drive forecast and planning, business insight and analysis to support senior leadership team.
- Ensure reporting systems and source data are accurate and reconciled including supporting accounting with variance analysis.
- In conjunction with the Corporate Controller’s team, ensure the FP&A team remains committed to the continuous improvement of its planning processes, tools, and systems. Proactively manage data input sources and continuous ERP development, data outputs via the right business intelligence (Bl) software, and data processing that leverages robust forecasting models and processes.

Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or business required
- Graduate degree, MBA, FPAC, CMA and/or CPA designation preferred
- Minimum of 10 years of finance and/or accounting experience in manufacturing or distribution businesses
- Experience in private equity owned businesses is highly preferred
- Knowledge of MS Office Suite, advanced Excel and Power Point
- Advanced financial modeling skills
- Knowledge of finance and accounting principles
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems and data analysis tools (e.g. Power BI, Business Central, OneStream, etc.)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Self-starter with “bias for action” mindset
- Ability to work independently and with a team as well as prioritize work in an effective manner meeting the needs of stakeholders
