Driving Training Instructor - Job Description
Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Training Instructor, the Instructor will be responsible for conducting training for new drivers. You must have a clean DMV record of 3 years with no citation and a strong adherence to compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. You should be able to take complete ownership of the training conducted while looking at ways to continually improve and increase the value of the program.
Training & Development Responsibilities:
- Plans and delivers classroom/virtual training, makes arrangements for the required logistics (training room, projector, etc.) to ensure smooth and efficient sessions
- Displays good facilitation skills to accommodate different learning styles by utilizing the available content, presentations and visual aid to equip the drivers with relevant skills needed to perform the job effectively and efficiently
- Conduct sessions on established diagnostic guides, troubleshooting procedures for Pixel phones, Linux laptops, monitoring cameras etc
- While the focus of the position is on driver training, employee may also have other safety program responsibilities (e.g., accident investigation, forms compliance, safety meetings)
- Manage the training program in accordance with business needs, regulatory requirements, and Quality Management System
- Evaluates drivers and employees for the duration of the classroom/on-the-job training by administering regular assessments
- Conducts practice & behind-the-wheel driving checks and certification/recertification of the drivers, conduct coaching sessions as per training needs
- Governance and follow up with learners for closure of the learning plans on the learning platform (LMS)
- Undertakes requisition and inventory of classroom equipment on a monthly basis to ensure safety and proper maintenance
- Participates in client calls regarding process updates and conduct debrief sessions to further disseminate
- Mentors new instructors on subject matter and course delivery techniques
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and work-related injuries. Typically determines fault or preventability based on the facts identified and loop back to training
- Provides assistance and training to drivers and attendants on passenger management and other safety-related issues
- Performs driver checks to identify training opportunities. Retrains drivers as necessary
- Actively participate in weekly meetings with site lead, operations leads and other peers for training improvement discussions
Training Administration Reporting:
- Prepares daily/weekly training reports on on-going training with feedback for all participants
- Manages daily attendance of drivers along with details on any issues
- Manages certification/assessment records of all training sessions
- Measure pre-training & post-training scores for need based training interventions
- Have regular meetings with Site coordinator, cross site Instructors & the Training manager to ensure inter team coordination and communication
Training Instructor Qualification & Skill Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Valid driving license with clean DMV record of 3 years with no citation
- Trained instructor preferably from Transdev
- Normal commercial freight drivers such as DHL, FedEx etc. or drivers from similar line of businesses (commercial operations drivers for trucks etc)
- Tech savvy & computer literate with working knowledge of Google suite
- Flexibility to travel to other US locations & available to work assigned hours/shifts.
- Operate/Drive in single and/or dual driving, (assignment with new drivers) up to five days a week; able to sit still for long periods of time
- Operate self-driving and/or non-autonomous vehicles on both defined and undefined routes, under a variety of environmental conditions
- Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
- Good verbal, written, and relational communication skills, with the ability to appropriately interact with employees of all levels, including drivers, customers, senior management and client representatives
- Good collaboration & ability to work in multicultural environment
- Adaptive to agile ways of working in alignment with changing market & business requirements
- Must have high attention to detail, highly observant with ability to identify gaps
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
