ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- The primary function of this position is to provide optimum general dentistry services to patients.
- Provide general dentistry professional services to children, adults, and elderly patients in accordance with clinical standards and protocols adopted by the practice and in compliance with statutes and Federal regulations.
- Reviews medical history at every visit.
- Exam and assess patients.
- Charts all pathologic conditions and reports these to the patient.
- Holds informed consent discussion with patient, documents same in the record, and assures appropriate forms are signed prior to initiating treatment.
- Documents all treatment provided in accordance with Dental policy and procedures and signs the patient record.
- Supervises taking of x-rays and monitors quality/procedure for x-rays and other equipment operation and procedures by assistants and recommends improvements when needed.
- Practices in accord with OSHA guidelines and standards and complies with HIPAA regulations regarding confidentiality of patient information.
- Maintains all required certification and licensing.
- Other relevant duties and responsibilities as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS or Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) from an accredited dental program by the Commission on Dental Accreditation.
- State license to practice dentistry.
- Current CPR certification.
- 1-2 years of experience working in a dental practice is a plus.
