The Maintenance Mechanic position maintains, troubleshoots issues, fixes, and improves equipment used in tube mill and metal sheet operations. Maintains good housekeeping in any area assigned and ensures that all company policies and safety rules are followed on any shift positioned.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Performs routine and preventative maintenance and repair procedures on electrical and mechanical systems involving production equipment and plant systems, including the plant’s main power supply system.
- Make up repair parts, and replace defective components.
- Must have a solid working knowledge of relay logic and be capable of applying this knowledge in the troubleshooting of the PLC’s in the production equipment.
- May operate a computer which controls and monitors mechanical equipment and utility systems.
- Calibrates and repairs pneumatic systems and other mechanical systems on production equipment to assure optimum performance of that production process.
- Maintains records of scheduled maintenance procedures.
- Perform necessary welding and sheet metal operations involved in repairing equipment.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 1 year of experience in metal sheet production, manufacturing or automotive (diesel) trouble shooting machinery preferred.
- 1 year of experience in mechanical maintenance preferred.
- Mechanical comprehension as well as a strong understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical applications, and blueprints.
- Programming knowledge of PLC systems, preferred.
