What You Will Do
Inspection
- Understand the proper use of inspection and measurement equipment such as micrometers, calipers, gages and inspection microscopes.
- Understand and adhere to internal and customer part quality requirements, SOP’s and other specifications and procedures used to define the product.
- Understand basic blueprint reading, interpretation standards and measurement procedures.
- Ability to reliably and consistently detect small scratches, burrs, nicks and surface finish deviations, often only visible under magnification.
- Act on behalf of the customer to audit and maintain the accuracy and timely delivery of products.
- See to it that Final Inspections are done in a thorough manner and in accordance with shipping requirements and production scheduling.
- Inspect materials, products, and equipment to find defects and implement corrections.
- Assist in maintaining the calibration and traceability of gages and other inspection equipment under the direction of a Quality Engineer. Maintains inventory of same.
- Lead by example in all activities that relate to Quality Control and its effective implementation.
- Monitor part quality to ensure that operators conform to production & processing standards.
- Must keep work bench and work area clean at the end of each shift.
Who You Are
Must Haves
- High School diploma required or equivalent experience in trade school certification
Skills and Competencies
- Able to work with minimal supervision
- Attention to detail and ability to multi-task
- Possess a mechanical aptitude
- Strong problem-solving capabilities
- Basic proficiency in MS Excel and Word
