Position Overview
The Senior Analyst, Business Performance Management
is responsible for ensuring that the work of Performance Management at Acero
Schools runs smoothly and efficiently. Business Performance Management at Acero
Schools involves creating plans for how we will tell if we’re achieving our intended
impact with students, implementing our strategic plan, reviewing the results of
our measures regularly, and adjusting our plans to improve those results. We
use both quantitative and qualitative data in this process. Part technically
proficient dashboard creator and report generator, part storyteller through
data, the Senior Analyst, Business Performance Management is tasked with
ensuring that everyone engaged with the work of Business Performance Management
has both the information they need, and the hands-on support they need to
understand and use that information in their decision-making processes. This
person should be highly curious, with strong communication skills and
commitment to data-informed decision making; understand the value of all different
kinds of data (quantitative and qualitative); and the importance of supporting
people in using relevant data across the organization.
Core Responsibilities
Performance
Management Tool Development and Upkeep (50%)
? Collect and document business rules for
the key metrics from Acero Schools Vision Actualization document.
? Translate the business rules into
technical requirement for a dashboard with data visualizations and reports
using student and organizational data.
? Develop
and maintain CEO dashboard.
? Document all
dashboard functionality to assist in future maintenance.
? Identify and
keep log of potential improvements to the Performance Management routines,
systems, and processes based on feedback from Principals and support office
staff.
? Serve as
primary support to dashboard users and report requests.
Performance
Management Application (50%)
? Identify trends
in key metrics on a monthly basis and report out to Chiefs bright spots and
areas of concern.
? Facilitate
monthly Continuous Improvement (CI) data meetings with Chiefs, support staff,
and Principals using data to drive the discussion.
? Participate in
cross-functional meetings with teams as needed to implement CI work.
? Help the Acero
support staff to create and deliver trainings on learning from data.
? Other duties,
as assigned.
Qualifications
?
Education: Bachelor’s degree, with several years
relevant experience, or relevant Master’s degree (required)
?
Demonstrated work experience in data analysis,
performance management, continuous improvement, data-driven decision making,
assessment, or similar
?
Proficiency
using technology, including Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, and
Tableau
?
Ability to understand
relational databases and Structured Query Language(SQL)
?
Superior oral and written communication skills,
especially as it pertains to data
?
A track record of success with making or supporting
data-driven improvements within organizations
?
Experience designing reports and learning from data
?
Experience evaluating the quality of data and data
visualizations
?
Demonstrated capacity to learn new technical systems
and business processes
?
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups
of people to support team and organizational goals, including desire and
experience helping others understand data
?
Must hold permanent residency in the United States

Physical
Demands
The nature of the work requires an ability to operate standard
business office equipment, and the ability to communicate and exchange
information, collect, compile and prepare work documents, set-up and maintain
work files. Physical demands include the ability to stand, bend, reach high and
low, stoop, and walk around the classroom 60% of the day. In addition,
candidates must be able to lift and/or push and pull 15 to 20lbs for short
periods of time, and walk up and down stairs several times a day.
Working
Conditions
Majority of work is performed in a general office environment.
Position requires availability for extended hours plus non-traditional hours
required to perform job duties. Also requires participation and attendance at
organization-sponsored events and meetings.
