Position Overview
Consistent with the
strategic priorities of Acero Schools (“ACERO”), the Senior Financial Analyst
will lead and be responsible for developing, improving and maintaining the
annual budget along with subsidiary and long term budgets.
The Senior
Financial Analyst will create systems for developing the annual budget across
all sources and uses of funds for ACERO at both the school and the
organizational level. The Senior
Financial Analyst will report to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and will
work with the ACERO leadership team, School Principals and network personnel on
incorporating the strategic financial planning and analysis into an effective
business model that most effectively and efficiently delivers resources to
ACERO students. ACERO is committed to
maintaining its network of schools and as such the Senior Financial Analyst
will model the long term sustainability of ACERO and collaborate on matters of
strategic and operational planning.
Core Responsibilities
? Manage the annual budget
process, including assisting with the development of budget targets and
estimates to ensure the network’s budget is reasonable and strategically aligns
with our mission and goals.
? Conduct financial analyses,
including budget to actual performance, preparation of pro-formas and financial
forecasts, to achieve operating efficiencies.
? Assist the CFO with preparing
budget presentations for senior management and key stakeholders.
? Provide training and support to
network staff to help with managing school and department budgets and related
activity.
? Assist the CFO and Controller in
preparing both internal and external reports involving budget results,
comparisons or projections, including but not limited to CPS reporting,
financing agreements and Board of Directors reports.

Develop financial models and lead the management and use of our
budget management system.
Qualifications
? Education: Bachelor’s Degree,
MBA (preferred)
? At least three years of
significant work experience with organizations as a Financial or Budget
Analyst, Grant Manager or equivalent
? Proficiency using MS Excel (e.g.
vlookup, hlookup, etc.) and with financial modeling and analysis
? Familiarity with budget
management systems such as Advanced Budget Management or Adaptive Insights is a
plus
? Flexibility, with a strong work
ethic and an entrepreneurial spirit, to accommodate high level of
responsibility and multiple priorities
? Ability to work effectively in a
fluid environment and with a wide range of constituents, including board
members, school personnel and external reports

Physical Demands
The nature of the
work requires an ability to operate standard business office equipment, and the
ability to communicate and exchange information, collect, compile and prepare
work documents, set-up and maintain work files. Physical demands include the ability
to stand, bend, reach high and low, stoop, and walk around the classroom 60% of
the day. In addition, candidates must be able to lift and/or push and pull 15
to 20lbs. for short periods of time, and walk up and down stairs several times
a day.
Working Conditions
Majority of work is
performed in a general office environment. Position requires availability for
extended hours plus non-traditional hours required to perform job duties. Also
requires participation and attendance at organization-sponsored events and
meetings.
