Reporting to the Illinois Background Manager, the Background Support Specialist is responsible for input, tracking and communicating with DHS for ACES$ billing within the Illinois Medicaid Program Advanced Cloud Technology IMPACT system. Provides phone assistance to clients and handles inquiries related to background and enrollment procedures for new and existing clients.
THE ROLE DEFINED:
Estimated Percent of Time: 65%
- Input, tracking and communicating with DHS for ACES$ billing within the Illinois Medicaid Program Advanced Cloud Technology IMPACT system.
- Responsible for all contractual submission between the State of Illinois to ACES$.
- Ensure revalidations are submitted on time and HFS IMPACT forms are requested to Personal Support Worker on a timely basis according to the written procedure.
Estimated Percent of Time: 20%
- Tracking workers that have been submitted for new enrollment, modifications and revalidation into IMPACT system.
- Maintaining monthly spreadsheet for tracking compliance
Estimated Percent of Time: 10%
- Notify Employer of Records and Self Direction Assistants (if applicable) Personal Support Workers have not returned HFS IMPACT forms. Maintain the Illinois IMPACT spreadsheet.
Estimated Percent of Time: 5%
- Manages and participates in consumer service phone queue.
- Accountable for maintaining 97% or higher call retrieval rate.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
- Minimum high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- A minimum of 5 years’ administrative experience preferably in a non-profit or social service environment.
DESIRED PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks.
- Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Sedentary work: duties require exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally (10-33% of time) and/or a minute amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, and pull items such as files.
- May involve bending, reaching, stooping, and lifting on occasion.
- Works in a well-lit office area.
