Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and financially savvy Operations Manager with experience in behavioral health services to join our team. This role is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our behavioral health programs, with a strong emphasis on financial oversight, process improvement, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will bring both clinical understanding and financial acumen to support sustainable, high-quality care delivery.
Key Responsibilities: Operational Oversight:
- Manage daily operations of behavioral health programs, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to organizational policies.
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to optimize service delivery and client outcomes.
- Oversee facilities, technology, and resource planning to support program effectiveness.
Financial Management:
- Develop, monitor, and manage budgets in collaboration with the finance department.
- Analyze financial reports and KPIs to identify trends, improve efficiency, and support decision-making.
- Monitor billing processes, insurance reimbursements, and revenue cycle management.
- Ensure cost-effectiveness without compromising quality of care.
Compliance & Quality Assurance:
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including HIPAA, Medicaid/Medicare, and behavioral health licensing requirements.
- Implement and oversee internal audits and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Lead accreditation and licensure processes as needed.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Supervise operations and support staff, providing coaching, training, and performance evaluations.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and respect within the team.
- Serve as a liaison between clinical and administrative departments to ensure alignment of goals.
Strategic Planning & Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and patient experience.
- Lead and support implementation of new systems, tools, and processes.
- Assist in strategic planning, service line development, and expansion efforts.
Stakeholder Communication:
- Prepare and present reports to senior leadership regarding operational performance and financial health.
- Build and maintain relationships with community partners, vendors, and regulatory agencies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Finance, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in operations management, preferably in a behavioral health setting.
- Strong understanding of behavioral health systems, clinical workflows, and payer requirements.
- Proven experience in financial planning, analysis, and budget management.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in healthcare systems, EHRs, and financial reporting tools.
Preferred Certifications:
- Certified Behavioral Health Case Manager (CBHCM), Certified Medical Practice Executive (CMPE), or similar.
- Lean Six Sigma or project management certification is a plus.
