Business Continuity Specialist/Operational Resilience Specialist

General Summary
This position will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and implementing operational resilience into recovery strategies for all ACES offices and operations. The Operational Resilience Specialist will conduct assessments, business impact analyses, and strategy selection for business operations. This position will create and maintain documentation for business continuity, disaster recovery, and crisis management procedures. This position will also serve as a proactive liaison with all internal departments and external resources, with the goal to maintain critical functions and minimize disruption on the company. Additionally, this role will plan and conduct mock-disaster exercises to test plans and strategies and assist in coordination efforts of any disruptive exercise or event.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery, business continuity, and incident response plans for physical locations with critical assets, data centers, and employees.
- Improve contingency plans to manage organizational emergencies.
- Test documented strategies, identify insufficiencies, and organize displacement testing efforts for all ACES offices.
- Assess risks to business operations, essential business functions, and information systems.
- Work with Operational and IT Staff to determine acceptable recovery time periods and resource requirements for ACES systems, applications, and services.
- Explore and implement business continuity software solutions.
- Serve as a communication and coordination backup for the Director of Corporate Security.
- Travel as required.
- Adhere to and be supportive of all ACES corporate policies and comply with all regulatory requirements including but not limited to NERC, FERC and relevant state regulations as applicable to the position.
- Any additional responsibilities assigned by management.
- Provide 24 hours a day / 7 days a week on-call support.
Required Qualifications:
- 1-5 years of experience in related continuity role preferred.
- CBCP, EDRP, or similar certifications preferred.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and analytical report writing experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint and familiarity with ACES systems.
- Maintain the highest degree of confidentiality and demonstrate unquestionable ethics and trust.
- Excellent customer service skills; ability to build cross-departmental relationships and work in a team-oriented environment.
- High degree of analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong initiative and follow-through; works independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to identify and mitigate risks and challenges.
