Position Summary:
The Field Superintendent is responsible for overseeing daily field operations on construction sites, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to company standards. This hands-on role requires leadership, excellent carpentry skills, and the physical ability to meet labor demands. This position is onsite at ACG North America. Additional and weekend work can be needed during busy season. Travel to job sites is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day field operations and project workflow.
- Supervise job sites, coordinate with subcontractors and crews, and ensure adherence to safety protocols and project specifications.
- Monitor job progress and enforce site safety standards
- Perform carpentry work as needed and support crews with hands-on labor when required.
- Maintain accurate daily reports, schedules, and communications using company-provided computer and cell phone.
- Inspect work progress, verify materials, and troubleshoot project issues on-site.
- Uphold quality control and ensure job site cleanliness and organization.
- Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, and suppliers.
Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of vehicle insurance.
- Strong carpentry skills with the ability to perform and direct hands-on work.
- Must own and maintain a set of basic hand tools.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Physical ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and carry standard construction loads.
- Proficiency in using basic technology (training provided for company systems).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial construction, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or foreman role.
- Proven experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, construction plans, and project specifications.
- Demonstrated knowledge of building codes, job site safety practices, and quality control.
- Experience coordinating subcontractors and managing construction schedules.
- OSHA certification required.
