What are the responsibilities and job description for the Low Voltage Service Technician position at ACG Solutions?
ACG Solutions has an immediate need for experienced Low Voltage Service Technician. The right candidate(s) will be responsible for service, repairs, installations, maintenance, inspections, and commissioning of low-voltage systems, to include: Access Control,
Video/CCTV, Security, Sound Systems, Vehicular Gate Systems and Voice/Data.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Servicing, installing, testing, and maintaining low-voltage security cable, equipment, components and devices associated with Access Control, Video/CCTV, Security, and
Voice/Data Systems.
- Diagnosing malfunctioning systems, apparatus and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
- Installing and mounting electronic devices, panels, sensors, and components.
- Troubleshooting, repair, and installation of wiring & cabling requiring knowledge of industry standard and manufacturer color codes.
- Demonstrated knowledge & use of testing equipment and termination tools.
- Review all work orders assigned and provide daily updates to scheduling coordinators and customers.
- Send-in job notes and time records prior to leaving customer job sites.
- Communicate all work prior to starting, as well as work completed to the customer upon arrival and before leaving work site.
- Demonstrate a strong sense of urgency in completing all assigned work orders.
- Inspecting customer sites and reviewing work orders, blue prints/plans, and installation manuals in order to determine material requirements and installation procedures to provide customer solutions.
- Performing inspections, testing, troubleshooting and commissioning of systems, devices and components according to municipal, local, and national codes.
Qualifications / Skills Sets / Expectations:
- A minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience working in the Low Voltage industry.
- Must successfully pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
- Provide hand tools typically required for low-voltage work.
- Take ownership for the quality and completion of each job.
Physical Abilities:
- Transport and carry up to a 12' stepladder without assistance.
- Work on energized circuits or equipment.
- Work at various heights, can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks and all types of ladders.
- Walk, climb, lift, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull and reach overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.
- Possess good vision (may be corrected vision); have the ability to see in color.
- May use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools.
- Must be committed to excellence and generate a high quality of work.
- Must consistently report to work on time; work well with other employees to accomplish a common goal; maintain a safe work environment.
- Must wear appropriate footwear and clothes for construction sites.
- Must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record.
