Position Function:
Supervises the OCOK Adoption Recruitment Specialists on a day-to-day basis. Drives the process of recruitment by ensuring appropriate timelines are met, profiles and photos are up-to-date and child-specific recruitment is done in accordance with OCOK regulations, contract requirements and Agency policy/procedures. Promotes the well-being of children, participates in staff meetings/trainings, and coordinates with staff from other agencies involved in providing thorough recruitment to children.
Requirements:
Education: A Master’s degree in a human services field is required. A professional licensure in a human services related field is preferred.
Experience: A minimum of two years working with Foster Care, Adoption, Kinship, or a related field is required.
Functional: Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with youth, families, collaborating agencies, community professionals, and OCOK/ACH Child and Family Services staff. Must demonstrate knowledge and application of all related standards that govern adoption processes. Must demonstrate good organization skills as well as the ability to develop systems that support compliance. Must have excellent training skills and strong leadership/mentoring/coaching abilities. Must demonstrate an ability to continue learning through supervision, continuing education and experience, and work cooperatively using a team approach. Must demonstrate an ability to practice Trauma-Informed principals.
Working Conditions:
Position includes interaction with agency representatives, potential families, conservators and other relevant stakeholders. Must have a valid driver's license and meet agency’s underwriting standards if driving on agency business. Will be required to occasionally drive to recruitment activities. A personal vehicle is required for travel. This position is sensitive to the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics. Occasional after-hours work may be required.
Exposure To Confidential Information:
The Adoption Recruitment Supervisor will have access to confidential records including youth files, foster care and adoption records, and foster parent information. Must maintain confidentiality and follow policies related to personnel records and client records.

- Ensures the timely authorization of services for youth placed with OCOK.
- Coordinates with Permanency Specialists, Intake Specialists, and Care Coordinators to ensure requirements are met.
- Serves as liaison with contracted providers and state agencies to ensure quality services are provided to youth in the care of OCOK.
- Monitors contract outcome measures.
- Provides regular and consistent supervision to Adoption Recruitment Specialists and provides opportunities for the professional development of assigned staff.
- Ensures the department is adequately staffed to facilitate the timely coordination and provision of services provided by Adoption Recruitment Specialists.
- Makes recommendations to senior staff on initiatives and ideas regarding quality improvement activities within the department’s scope of responsibilities.
- Ensures an accurate system of identifying recruitment needs to meet each youth’s needs.
- Ensures youth profiles and home studies are followed up on in a timely manner.
- Ensures integrity of all information compiled about each youth meets OCOK policy.
- Reviews recruitment documentation on a regular basis to monitor contract compliance to support permanency efforts.
- Liaison with other agency programs.
- Assists in reviewing and revising policies and procedures as needed.
- Ensures all documents are obtained to support timely adoptions.
- Works closely with and communicates timely with agency partners and other relevant stakeholders.
- Monitors contract outcome measures with emphasis on time to permanency for youth who are legally free for adoption.
- Completes documentation and forwards reports containing descriptive, analytical and evaluative content.
- Refrains from assuming any duty that is unrelated to and/or interferes with the responsibilities of the position.
- Advocates, promotes and practices cultural sensitivity and responsiveness in all day-to-day interactions.
- Develops, promotes and practices teamwork in all activities.
- Completes other duties as assigned by the Director of Community Engagement.
