Purpose/Duties:

The Loan Consultant Sales Manager is a key contributor to building long term member relationships and achieving corporate level goals. Qualified candidates will demonstrate a highly motivated, positive, outgoing, influential personality with a strong emphasis on sales and results orientation, ensuring the credit union maximizes lending and sales opportunities with members who are requesting or may benefit from Achieva Credit Union products and services. Additional success factors include the consistent ability to think independently, outside the box, and effectively respond to each individual member’s unique situation.

To be successful in this role, incumbent will need to be fully effective with regards to meeting or exceeding assigned production and service level goals that will ultimately support the credit unions mission and strategic objectives of becoming a market leader with regards to member experience and convenience. Must also have the ability to transition seamlessly through various service channels and be proficient with sales and loan interviewing techniques. This position may work remotely and oversee a remote salesforce.

Key Result Areas:

  • Responsible for coordinating and supervising the daily activities, results, schedules, and staffing.
  • Responsible for driving overall sales goals, team motivation, communication, sales meetings, games, incentives, moral, and creating a supportive team environment.
  • Responsible for staff development through individual coaching and training, to provide a high level of product knowledge, system expertise, high member satisfaction, competence and consistency.
  • Responsible for overall sales strategy, sales techniques, appropriate communication, scripting and tracking of sales production.
  • Conduct staff meetings, product training, resolve problems, assume responsibility for seeking solutions, maintain effective communication and keep management advised of all current and potential problems and credit union initiatives.
  • Accountable for the team’s ability to meet cross sale and production goals, including lending and deposit products as well as ancillary products.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all membership and lending policies/guidelines and loan/membership origination procedures.
  • Maintain awareness of loan closing procedures and audit function.
  • Ability to successfully communicate with, lead and manage results for a team of remote staff members.
  • Prepare and utilize various daily/weekly/monthly reports to report on and drive performance as well as recommend process improvements.
  • Maintain a self-development program by updating technical and management skills by completing a training plan prescribed for the position, attending pertinent training sessions, and reading industry journals or publications.
  • Partner with credit union leadership to be a top employer.
  • Responds to and effectively resolves member service issues or escalates issues to a higher authority, as needed.
  • Compiles sales results on a monthly basis.
  • Provides management with member/non-member product/service feedback and makes recommendations to elevate our suite financial services.
  • Participate in branch huddles as the SME
  • Partner with Department leads to facilitate and organize staff for testing/validating of break/fixes, upgrades and enhancements of the LOS and CORE as it relates back to lending
  • Author process instructions and conduct TEAM training sessions
  • Participate in Department and Corporate level projects.
  • Effectively communicate system issues, requested enhancements and provide suggestions on ways to continually improve processes
  • Completion and communication of daily assignments
  • Manage pipelines, leads, data
  • Provide escalation support for all staff
  • Handle escalated member calls and work to provide solutions
  • Fosters collaboration and efficiently communicates with peers, branch teams and support departments.
  • Complies with Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) regulations and standards, attending training as required.
  • Responsible for upholding all credit union ethical standards.
  • Represents the credit union in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Perform other essential job functions as required or assigned.

Required Education:

  • HS Diploma/GED


Required Experience:

  • 3-5 years Financial institution experience
  • 3-5 years Demonstrated sales success
  • 3-5 years Leadership experience
