The Direct Support Professional (DSP) will play a critical role in supporting Achieva's mission by providing direct care and personalized support to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a community setting, ensuring their health, safety, and welfare. This position will involve assisting with daily living activities, transporting individuals to appointments, and participating in recreational activities, and will require strong interpersonal skills, compassion, and a commitment to advocacy.

- Career Development: Opportunities for advancement through the National Alliance of Direct Support Professionals (NADSP) certification program, with pay rate increases upon completion of each certification/module (DSP I: 0.50 increase, DSPII: 0.50 increase, DSP III: $1.00 increase).

This position will involve assisting with daily living activities, transporting individuals to appointments, and participating in recreational activities, and will require strong interpersonal skills, compassion, and a commitment to advocacy.
Key Responsibilities
- Understands, supports, and advocates with people we support by helping them achieve their vision of a good life.
- Identifies, documents, and shares concerns and successes as appropriate.
- Transports and accompanies people to activities, appointments, and events.
- Helps with personal care tasks as needed, including bathing, preparing meals and laundry.
- Assists with money management by promoting independence.
- Administers medications.
- Additional duties as assigned.
- Valid driver's license (vehicle provided at each site for transportation).
- Must obtain First Aid/CPR certification within 6 months of start date.
- Must pass Medication Administration certification within 2 months of start date.
- Compassionate, patient, and kind with a strong desire to make a difference in the lives of others.
- Must obtain First Aid/CPR certification within two months of the start date.
- Successful completion of Medication Administration training, provided by Achieva.
