Full-stack JavaScript/TypeScript developer interested in education

Achievable is a small EdTech startup. Our focus is on test preparation for high-stakes exams, like the GRE for graduate school admissions, the FINRA Series licenses for careers in wealth management, and the USMLE exam for medical doctors. Our long-term mission is to help people unlock opportunity in their lives more broadly, guiding them through their life-long journey of education, employment, and career advancement.

Our team has seven full time employees, including our technical co-founder (your manager) and an amazing senior engineer (your mentor). We're looking to hire a motivated junior engineer committed in improving their skills. We'll train you to write well-structured and high-performing code across the full stack through plenty of interesting, impactful, hands-on projects.

We're entirely remote company, and comfortable working with people internationally. As long as we communicate well, keep a high quality level, and achieve our deadlines, you can do the work anywhere and anytime you'd like. We'll work closely together, collaborating through Slack, code reviews, and Zoom meetings depending on timezone and availability.

Modern tech stack: JavaScript / TypeScript (React, Node.js, Next.js), GraphQL, MySQL

Projects Will Include

• Improving our student-facing learning platform, e.g. daily study schedule planner
• Improving our coach-facing platform, e.g. surfacing if students are on-track or off-track
• Coding dynamic quiz questions with complex logic that change every time the student takes them
• Analyzing study data to understand user behavior, feature usage, conversion optimization

• Beginner or intermediate experience with JavaScript/TypeScript (React, Node.js, Next.js)
