Job Description
Achievement Behavior Care Services is an applied behavior analytics (ABA) service agency that works to provide home-based and community based behavioral support services for students and families across Long Island. We are seeking compassionate individuals who are dedicated to making an impact on children with autism and their families. Our Behavior Technicians (BTs) are part of a network of caring professionals who are invested in helping each other toward being successful in this mission. All of our services are supervised under the guidance of one of our many esteemed Board-Certified Behavioral Analysts (BCBA).
Location: Wantagh
RBT certified a plus (we will pay the fees if you're not certified and pass the RBT exam)
Schedule:
IN SCHOOL: Tuesday-Friday 7-9am
IN HOME: Monday 4:30-6:30
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide in-school Applied Behavioral Analysis therapy with a 9 year old student to transition her off of the bus
- Collect behavior and skill acquisition data during sessions on a daily basis
- Be goal-oriented and maintain professionalism in all aspects of your work

Expectations:
- Study patient behavior and apply ABA principles
- Respond appropriately to different situations common among Autism patients and others with behavioral and developmental challenges
- Utilize key communication skills to provide effective feedback to patients
- Effectively communicate positive feedback to patients
- Be able to recognize and respond to critical improvements in patient behaviors.
- Become familiar with and use behavioral redirection techniques
- Know how to respond to negative behaviors appropriately
- Provide written documentation on each patient.
Qualifications:
- An interest in further education in ABA, psychology, education, or related field of study
- Paraprofessional ABA Work is a plus
- Preferred Registered Behavior Technician certificate from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board.
- Strong communication skills required
- Ability to work under high-stress situations
- Exhibits significant reliable habits, including timeliness and organizational skills
- Proven experience working with pre-school and elementary school-aged children
- Additional evidence of successful work with patients suffering from Autism and development issues
- Other experience, certificates, or qualifications as required by state
- Multilingual is a PLUS
