The ideal candidate for this position is Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant who has had experience providing direct occupational therapy services to students in a classroom setting in a multidisciplinary collaborative model of intervention; under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist. Experience working with children who have been diagnosed with Autism is a plus.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Experience as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant working in a pediatric or school setting
- Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant license or eligibility for licensure in the State of Ohio
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team approach
- Interest in developing and applying therapeutic services to enhance students ability to perform activities of daily living and learning
- Professionally driven and motivated to pursue clinical continuing education opportunities to develop therapy expertise
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to children in a blended model classroom setting
- Complete documentation in a timely manner consistent with agency and therapy department policies and procedures.
- Collaborate, consult, and plan with other team members
- Attend supervision, departmental, and agency meetings.
- Provide supervision to volunteers and students as assigned.
- Attend continuing education opportunities to maintain current licensure and develop professional competencies.
- Serve on therapy department and agency committees.
