Program Manager of the Autism School
The Achievement Centers for Childrens mission is to empower children and adults with disabilities and their families to achieve their greatest potential. The Achievement Centers provides comprehensive programming across 4 major areas: Family Support, Education, Therapy, and Recreation, serving over 2,500 children per year. The Headquarters are located in Highland Hills with two additional locations in Westlake and Camp Cheerful in Strongsville.
We are looking for a manager with experience in both administration and behavior management in the field of autism and has the ability to quickly integrate into the agency and serve as a highly knowledgeable and visionary leader in the Autism school. Under the supervision of the Director of the Autism School, this position will lead the school staff and ensure students are provided with an engaging and safe learning environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Implements new cutting edge, best practices programs.
- Participates in collaborative activities that foster positive external relationships with educational institutions and organizations, especially in the area of autism.
- Provides leadership and supervision to the school staff.
- Collaborate school initiatives related to behavioral program development that include data collection tools, data analysis and intervention planning for moderate-intensive need students.
- Perform as an instructional and behavioral leader that coaches and develops staff to employ research based, best practice interventions and strategies.
- Assists in assessing the schools PBIS model and provides feedback for continued development and refinement of behavior procedures.
- Assists the Director with staff recruitment, hiring, and training duties.
- Assists in assessing school program model and provides feedback for future endeavors.
- Collaborates with the Director to develop, revise and implement systems, policies and procedures for the Autism School programs to assure best practices.
- Provide staff with consultative services regarding programming and services that address: social/emotional, adaptive behavior, sensory and behavioral needs to assist in measuring the effectiveness, treatment integrity, fidelity and compliance of plans/programs.
- Provide crisis support to students and staff when student behaviors are escalated.
- Communicate and collaborate with administrative staff to review state and federal updates concerning policies and procedures for students with moderate-intensive educational needs.
- Work collaboratively with school staff, Parent Educators and community agency partners to facilitate cooperative behavioral interventions and strategies between school, home and community.
- Serves as liaison between school staff and Director.
- Can employ cost effective pricing and comparison purchasing in order to maximize program resources and adhere to the Autism School budget.
- Monitors staff payroll, attendance and general daily performance.
- Develop and implement professional development for staff.
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Education, Special Education or related field (Masters Degree preferred)
- 5 years of job related experience in the educational setting, with expertise in the field of autism and evidenced-based intervention methodologies
- 2 years of supervisory experience in a school leadership position
- Training and minimum of 2 years experience in behavioral management techniques and development of FBAs/BIPs
- Have excellent teamwork skills that show a history of program refinement and development
- Be energetic, trustworthy and a visionary with an entrepreneurial spirit
- Have excellent verbal, written and speaking skills
