Description
Industrial electrical engineer for long-standing manufacturing facility with many generations of equipment and industrial control systems. As a member of the Plant Services team, the electrical engineer will help to direct the design and installation of new or replacement electrical and automation equipment, develop standards for reliability and guidelines for engineering and maintenance activities on said equipment. The electrical engineer will also ensure that engineering drawings and technical information is kept up to date for the equipment identified. This position is also responsible for the daily maintenance activities on equipment and systems within the electrical engineer’s responsibility. Electrical engineer may also be tasked with supporting other maintenance activities during breakdowns, line shutdowns, annual shutdowns or when the need arises.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensures engineering drawings, maintenance procedures and technical information are kept up to date.
- Provide direction to maintenance associates and contract labor
- Lead the design and development of electrical projects and initiatives within the plant
- Identify and implement process equipment improvements utilizing reliability-based maintenance philosophy.
- Assist planners/schedulers to develop detailed shutdown work plans.
- Develop & organize maintenance associates in electrical automation, maintenance and safety.
- Conduct root cause analysis on equipment failures and take appropriate measures to prevent failures from reoccurring.
Minimum Required Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineer or Automation engineering
- 2 year’s industrial maintenance engineer experience
Preferred Experience & Qualifications
- Experience in the implementation of industrial automation projects with successful cost and performance outcomes
- Project management experience
- Experience with the diagnosis and repair of AC and DC motors, drives, and control circuits
- Experience with the diagnosis and repair of sensors, transducers, low-voltage signal transmitters and receivers
- Experience with PLC integration, interface, and diagnostics
Skills & Competencies
- Ability to effectively manage projects from conception to completion. Including budgeting, design, manpower allocation, timeline development, documentation and technical instruction.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with abstract and concrete variables.
- Ability to analyze and solve problems through application of principals of mechanics, electricity, and fluid dynamics to machines and equipment.
- Ability to understand the operation of moderately complex machines and systems
- Ability to operate and understand a variety of computer applications and systems such as AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and proprietary HMI platforms.

Pay: $88,600.00 - $110,700.00 per year
