ACI Federal Inc. is seeking experienced Background Investigators to support a distinguished client across the United States. In this role, you will conduct comprehensive background investigations to determine the suitability of individuals requiring access to sensitive or classified U.S. Government information. This is a remote position (80%) with regular local travel (20%).
Qualifications
- Active T5 (Top Secret Security Clearance) is required from the Department of Defense.
- Direct field investigation experience conducting DCSA/NBIB background investigations within the past 3 years.
- Strong organizational, scheduling, and prioritization skills.
- Professional demeanor with the ability to interact effectively with a variety of individuals.
- High level of confidentiality, ethics, and integrity.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (public transportation may be used if available and practical).
- Sufficient motor vehicle insurance coverage as required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Conduct face-to-face interviews with subjects and employers to gather comprehensive background information.
- Perform record searches at police agencies, courthouses, educational institutions, financial institutions, and medical/mental health facilities.
- Accurately document all findings and provide clear, concise reports using government-issued computer systems.
- Maintain compliance with federal contractor requirements, including abstaining from marijuana use regardless of state laws.
- Travel within a 50-mile radius of your home, with potential for extended travel based on business needs (negotiated premium payments available).
Reimbursement and Tools
- Reimbursement for case-related expenses such as mileage, tolls, and parking.
- Provided GFE computer for casework.
- Provided supplies for field work.
Essential Functions:
- Navigate residential, inner-city, and other environments, including non-ADA-compliant facilities.
- Perform extended periods of sitting, standing, walking, bending, and climbing stairs.
- Operate a computer and other office equipment for long durations.
- Maintain attention to detail and accuracy when recording, transcribing, and reviewing information.
- Work independently and under deadlines in potentially stressful environments.
