Employment Type : Full-Time Contract
Location : Charleston, SC
Shift : 12-hour shifts, alternating weekends preferred
Compensation : $30 - $35 per hour (commensurate with experience)

Job Summary
As an LPN in our Psychiatric / Mental Health Unit, you will play an essential role in delivering high-quality care to patients with mental health conditions. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or physician, you will provide direct patient care, foster a therapeutic environment, and ensure the safety and well-being of all patients.
Key Responsibilities
Provide patient-focused nursing care to individuals with psychiatric and mental health conditions.
Administer medications, treatments, and injections as prescribed.
Monitor and document patient behavior, mood, and progress in medical records.
Assist with crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques to ensure patient and staff safety.
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement care plans.
Support patients in performing activities of daily living (ADLs) while promoting independence.
Educate patients and families about treatment plans, medications, and coping strategies.
Ensure compliance with ACI policies, procedures, and mental health care regulations.
Qualifications
Required :
Current and valid LPN license in South Carolina.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association preferred).
Minimum 2 years of experience in psychiatric / mental health nursing (must have worked within the last six months).
Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including alternating weekends (preferred).
Preferred :
Certification in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing (PMHN) is a plus.
Experience with de-escalation techniques and trauma-informed care.
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
A compassionate and patient-centered approach to mental health care.
