What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist position at ACI?
General Description:
Under the supervision of a Nurse Practitioner or a MD, the Phlebotomist is responsible for efficiently and accurately performing lab tests and other diagnostic services.
Responsibilities:
· Draws blood for testing and diagnostic procedures in accordance with established protocols and procedures.
· Collect urine toxicology and urinalysis.
· Record urine toxicology reports in the EHR.
· Perform vitals and EKG per practitioner orders.
· Provide instruction to patients to obtain test samples as required.
· Collect and document infectious disease history.
· Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies.
· Attend HEP-C collaboration meetings.
· Process patient lab specimen with the requisition.
· Maintain cleanliness of laboratory testing area.
· Adhere to infection control practices including standard precautions.
· Attend regular staff and Q.A. meetings.
· Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team on executing patient-centered care.
· Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
· High School Diploma or Equivalent.
· Phlebotomy Certification from NYS approved, accredited program.
· At least one year experience as a phlebotomist.
· Current CPR certification required.
· Excellent computer skills.
· Excellent organizational skills.
· Ability to work well in a group setting and autonomously.
· Must be able to follow oral and written instructions.
Job Types: Full-time, Per diem
Pay: $19.25 per hour
