Job Overview
As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will work under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist to provide care to patients. Your role will involve assisting in the implementation of therapeutic programs and helping patients regain movement and manage pain.
Duties
- Collaborate with physical therapists to develop and implement care plans
- Assist patients with therapeutic exercises and activities
- Provide hands-on therapy such as trigger point therapy
- Educate patients and their families on at-home exercises and self-care techniques
- Support in discharge planning and follow-up care
- Work with patients across various settings including pediatrics, acute care, orthopedics, and more
Requirements
- Degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology
- Ability to provide quality patient care with compassion and empathy
- Familiarity with acute care procedures and orthopedic treatments
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
