Job Description
As an Electrical Engineer II , you will play a key role in supporting and improving designs of innovative medical devices. This is a technical, hands-on engineering position that works as an integral member of the design sustaining team. In this role, you will analyze data to identify opportunities, contribute to projects, and implement changes focused on improving product performance and reliability, product enhancements, and component obsolescence. You will work within cross-functional teams, provide technical support, and ensure our products meet customer and regulatory requirements. This individual will collaborate effectively, learn from senior level engineers, and contribute to the continuous improvement of medical device products.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities :
- Assist in the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of updated / improved electrical solutions to meet customer and design requirements
- Support product enhancement projects according to solid project plans and management principles (scope, timeline, milestones, and risk-based decision-making)
- Help implement updated / improved designs into production, including assisting in the development of functional test solutions
- Update required specifications and technical documents including requirements specifications, architecture and design documentation, and test and verification plans and reports
- Support existing microcontroller and microprocessor-based products incorporating sensors, motor controls, communication, and UX elements
- Assist in ensuring designs meet applicable regulatory standards such as UL, FCC, IEC 60601-1, and CE
- Support existing test fixtures to verify circuit boards and / or system functionality for production testing
- Collaborate with senior engineers and other team members to maintain and improve the design of BMT medical device products
- Gain an understanding of user experiences to contribute to informed design improvement decisions
