Description
Acker is looking for a permanent full-time Warehouse Associate with Forklift Certification to support Acker Storage LLC's warehouse operations. The Warehouse Associate is responsible for efficiently picking, packing, and preparing orders for shipment. This role involves the operation of forklifts and other material handling equipment, as well as ensuring accuracy and quality in the order fulfillment process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Forklift Operation: Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to move, load and unload wine products.
- Order Picking: Accurately pick products form inventory based on clint orders and picking lists. Ensure that the correct items and quantities are picked.
- Packing and Shipping: Securely pack picked items, and organize orders for dispatch. Ensure packing standards are met to prevent damage during transit.
- Receiving: Inspect, scan and receive incoming shipments of wine, ensuring accuracy against purchase orders. Be sure barcodes are accurate. Document and report any discrepancies or damages.
- Inventory Management: Conduct regular inventory counts and assist with maintaining accurate inventory records. Report any discrepancies to the Warehouse Manager.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations. Ensure the warehouse is clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.
- Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other warehouse team members and departments to achieve operational goals and maintain high standards of efficiency.
- Documentation: Complete necessary documentation for inventory movements, order fulfillment, and receiving processes.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine checks and maintenance on forklifts and other equipment. Report any issues to the Warehouse Manager.
- Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as assigned by the Warehouse Manager and Supervisors.
Requirements
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: Previous Warehouse experience, particularly in order picking and packing.
Certification: Valid forklift certificate is required.
Knowledge:
- Basic use of a stand up order picker.
- Basic understanding of warehouse operations and inventory management.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry heavy boxes (up to 50 lbs) and work in a physically demanding environment.
- Must be able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend, stand, sit and reach.
- Stand or walk for long periods of time.
- Navigate a warehouse and reach items both high and low.
Working Conditions:
- Temperature controlled warehouse environment.
- Working hours are typically from 8am to 4:30pm with a half hour lunch.
- Must be available to work overtime, including Saturdays when requested.
