What are the responsibilities and job description for the Wine Storage Associate position at Acker Wines?
The Storage Associate is responsible for organizing, handling, and maintaining inventory within a warehouse storage facility. This role ensures wine inventory is stored accurately, efficiently, and in a manner that maintains quality standards – especially important for wine.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Perform daily data entry for new items received into the warehouse.
- Accurately enter wine names, designations, producers, vintage, and formats in to proprietary software.
- Receive, scan and properly store wine in designated areas.
- Pick, pack, and prepare orders for consignment or shipping with care and accuracy.
- Perform regular inventory counts and assist with stock reconciliation.
- Operate warehouse equipment, including pallet jacks or forklifts.
- Ensure compliance with warehouse safety and quality standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the storage area.
- Report any damaged or compromised products immediately.
- Performs other related duties as requested.
- Valid forklift certificate is required.
- Understanding of warehouse operations and inventory management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Extremely organized and able to work with minimum supervision.
- Moderate computer skills, including familiarity with inventory software and data entry.
Education and Experience:
- WSET or other wine education with aspirations to learn more.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Forklift operator certification and use of stand up fork lift a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend, stand, sit and reach.
- Stand or walk for long periods of time.
- Ability to regularly lift and move up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Working Conditions:
- Temperature controlled warehouse environment.
- Working hours are typically from 8am to 430pm with a half hour lunch.
- Must be available to work overtime, including Saturdays when requested.
