Position Overview
The technologist is responsible for performing Computed Tomography (CT) procedures as directed by the radiation oncologists. The technologist must be proficient in performing diagnostic CT scans and will be trained in CT simulations and CT simulation protocols which include injecting IV contrasts and constructing immobilization devices. The technologist will also be responsible for capturing charges, chart documentation, and other tasks as assigned.
This position will be primary located at the Amelia Island office.
Essential Job Functions
Computed Tomography (CT) Scans
· Perform diagnostic CT scans according to established protocols
· Prepare and administer contrast media and/or medications within the accepted scope of practice
· Perform daily, weekly, quarterly and annual QA procedures for the CT scanner
· Maintain accurate and complete records, reports and files
· Collaborate with Billing to capture charges
Computed Tomography (CT) Simulations
· Verify physician simulation orders and patient consent forms are completed
· Construct immobilization devices
· Prepare equipment and position patient according to simulation set up as
determined by physician
· Perform and label exams as required by each simulation
· Properly mark patient according to established fields
· Provide patient care and reassurance during simulation
· Ensure that radiation protection procedures are followed
· Maintain patient confidentiality
Required
· Active State of Florida Radiologic Technologist license required
· R.T. (R)(CT) (ARRT) certifications
· Basic Life Support
· Venipuncture skills
· Associate Degree from an accredited post-secondary institution
· Computer literacy
· 2 years CT Experience
Preferred
· Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution
· 1-2 years CT experience
Hours
- 3 days a week, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday
- 7:00 AM - 3:300 PM
