Make a difference as a Senior Civil Engineer -Office Team Lead
As a Senior Civil Engineer - Office Team Lead at Ackerman Estvold, you'll lead and manage civil engineering projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to our core values of quality and integrity. Your role involves developing comprehensive project plans, including scope definition, cost estimation, and timeline forecasting, while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. Conducting site assessments and environmental impact analyses will be key elements of your project management responsibilities.
You'll collaborate with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies to meet project requirements effectively. In addition, you'll provide valuable technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers. Overseeing daily office operations, you'll coordinate project teams, streamline communication, and implement policies that enhance efficiency while fostering a positive office culture.
Organizing staff training and supporting the principal engineer in client acquisition and strategic growth initiatives will further elevate your leadership impact in the Boise office.

A Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited institution and a Professional Engineering License (PE) for Idaho are essential. With over eight years of successful design and consulting experience-preferably in municipal projects-you will possess a strong foundation in civil engineering principles.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with effective time management and organizational abilities, will ensure successful project execution and team collaboration. Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D, XP-SWMM, WaterCAD, SewerCAD, StormCAD, and other related software will enhance your technical capabilities. Previous experience in an office management or leadership role will be critical as you oversee daily operations and cultivate a positive office culture.
Strong interpersonal skills will further enable you to engage effectively with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies throughout the project lifecycle.
Knowledge and skills required for the position are :
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited college or university
- Professional Engineering License (PE) for the state of ID is required.
- 8 years of successful design and consulting experience within Civil Engineering
- Municipal experience preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, time management, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- You have strong technical skills and experience using Autodesk Civil 3D, XP-SWMM, WaterCAD, SewerCAD, StormCAD and other related programs.
- Proven experience in office management or a leadership role.
