Job Description:
We are looking for a Mainframe (z/OS) DBA to support and optimize our z/OS database environment. The ideal candidate should have expertise in DB2 for z/OS, database administration, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
Responsibilities:
- Administer and maintain DB2 on z/OS databases, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Perform database tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting to optimize system performance.
- Implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Work with application teams to optimize SQL queries and database structures.
- Ensure database security, compliance, and data integrity.
- Support software upgrades, patches, and migrations in the z/OS environment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for seamless database operations.
Required Skills:
- Strong experience with DB2 on z/OS administration.
- Proficiency in z/OS system utilities, JCL, and REXX scripting.
- Knowledge of performance tuning, database indexing, and optimization techniques.
- Experience with disaster recovery and high availability solutions.
- Familiarity with IBM DB2 tools, SMF, RMF, and SQL analysis.
- Experience working in large-scale enterprise environments.
Salary : $60 - $65
