Role :
The Manager IT System Design and Development owns a singular process or technology platform within a specified functional area. The position manages IT services provided to one internal customer. This position works on multiple concurrent projects within functional area as a technical delivery team owner while managing matrixed resources. This role is involved in the Full Systems Development Life Cycle and is responsible for designing, coding, testing, implementing and supporting application software that is delivered on time and within budget. Responsible for systems analysis, design development, integration enhancement, maintenance and support. Responsibilities beyond development of software may include participation in component and data architecture design, technology planning, product evaluation, advanced testing processes and buy vs. build recommendations. This role possesses a solid understanding of development, testing and integration methodologies. Knowledge of current and emerging IT products, services and processes may be required. Individuals must be able to adjust to constant business change. This role provides client support, consultation and subject matter expertise for system development, maintenance and support
Summary of Tasks :
- Provides expertise and technical skill, and often manages a diverse team, demonstrates ownership of deliverables, manages to deadlines, communicates across teams.
- Responsible for aligning information technology planning with the business strategy. Works with business partners to understand business needs.
- Provides input to demand management process and executes on plan.
- Provides input to business technology planning within functional area. Implements solutions consistent with the architecture.
- Manages the development and implementation of IT initiatives in technical area to support business strategy.
- Measures service performance and implements improvements as needed.
- Implements defined processes improvements.
- May participate in the development of IT budgets. Partners with senior leadership and finance. Tracks and takes appropriate steps to stay within budget.
- Develops and implements technologies to improve the performance of multiple business processes that increase profitability, efficiency or customer satisfaction.
- Meets regularly with team to gather work statuses. Discuss work progress and obstacles. Provides advice, guidance, encouragement and constructive feedback. Ensures work, information ideas and technology flow freely among the section.
- Establishes measurable individual and team objectives that are aligned with business and organizational goals. Documents and presents performance assessments
- Ensure staff has the resources and skills needed to support all work initiatives. Participates in IT project deployment activities.
- Generates appropriate communication, process and educational plans for mitigating the disruption of change. Identifies and removes obstacles to change.
