Adult Support Specialist
We are seeking a dedicated Adult Support Specialist to join our team at ACLD.
In this role, you will assist adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in achieving their personal goals and aspirations.
Main Responsibilities:
- Support program participants in developing life skills and independence;
- Provide emotional support and guidance to individuals in need;
- Collaborate with colleagues to resolve behavioral issues and promote positive outcomes;
- Assist with transportation and daily activities using Agency vehicles;
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of client progress.
Requirements:
- Clean, valid NYS Drivers license;
- High School diploma or equivalent;
- Experience working with intellectually and developmentally disabled populations preferred but will train;
- Ability to assist with lifting and transferring an adult person;
- Prior experience in caregiving or related fields is a plus.
