Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Day Habilitation Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will work closely with individuals to achieve their personal goals, promote socialization, and develop essential life skills.
Responsibilities
- Assist program participants in achieving and exceeding their personal goals.
- Provide structure and emotional support to promote a sense of security and well-being.
- Help individuals resolve behavioral issues through positive reinforcement and redirection techniques.
- Assist with personal hygiene and daily living tasks.
- Document progress and maintain accurate records.
- Transport individuals to and from volunteer and pre-vocational activities using Agency vehicles.
Requirements
- Clean, valid NYS Drivers license.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- SOME experience working with intellectually and developmentally disabled populations preferred; but will train.
- Ability to assist with lifting and transferring an adult person.
- Prior experience as Caregiver, Care Assistant, Personal Assistant, Resident Assistant, Direct Care Worker, Nursing Assistant, Home Care Aide or Companion is a plus.
Work Schedule
Monday - Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm (40 hours)
