Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Outpatient Behavioral Health Clinic Services to oversee the operational management of the Article 31 (OMH) and 32 (OASAS) behavioral health clinics at the CEC Health Care facility in Glen Cove. This role involves providing leadership and professional guidance to our staff and programs, ensuring compliance with regulations, and driving the delivery of quality care for individuals with mental health and substance use disorders.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provides direction on policies and procedures for the outpatient services function. Ensures a high level of quality care and services for patients by coordinating and communicating operational procedures to staff.
- Monitors, evaluates and modifies programs while adhering to CEC’s guidelines and standards.
- Develops and implements training to ensure that all employees receive adequate direction on preferred clinical practices, approaches and current system trends.
- Seeks additional internal and external training resources when necessary.
- Ensures that regulatory and organizational training requirements are satisfied.
- Leads and prepares agenda for weekly staff meeting.
- Oversees efficient and productive operation of Admissions Department; manages data for all admissions, discharges and caseloads.
- Monitors clinician and provider productivity, ensuring targets are met.
- Responsible for interviewing potential candidates for employment and internships; provides hiring recommendations and onboarding training.
- Ensures that both internal and external incident reporting requirements are met for all crises and unusual incidents.
- Participates in preparation of reports and records related to the activities and accomplishments of the program, including monthly productivity report.
- Provides clinical and administrative supervision of staff and interns, reviews and locks progress notes and other required documentation.
- Provides clinical supervision of the CEC Nassau County Probation Liaison Program.
- Participates in and provides leadership for county and state reviews of the clinics.
Requirements:
- Master’s Degree in Social Work
- Current NYS LCSW licensure
- Minimum of seven years in the human services field.
- Minimum of five years of managerial experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, leadership, management and reporting skills.
- Exceptional research and writing skills in order to seek out new procedures to assist the department in running as efficiently as possible.
- Understands and articulates the concepts of an interdisciplinary team model with a focus on outcome measurements.
- Excellent critical thinking and decision-making skills.
- Proficient in computer skills including Microsoft Office, Excel, EMR
- Knowledgeable of documentation principles required for appropriate billing.
- Possesses strong knowledge of regulations related to outpatient clinic operations – OMH, OASAS, FQHC
