In this position, you will:
- Help program participants achieve/exceed their personal goals;
- Provide structure and emotional support;
- Assist in resolving behavioral issues;
- Help people supported with personal hygiene;
- Complete detailed, accurate documentation
- Transport the people supported to and from volunteer and pre-vocational activities using Agency vehicles.
We require:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- One-year experience in OPWDD field required. Two (2) years of ACLD experience preferred.
- Complete (within 90 days of hire) and maintain required training in SCIP (Strategies for Crisis Intervention and Prevention) Restrictive Certification, CPR (Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation), First Aid, and AED (Automated External Defibrillator).
- Obtain (within 180 days of hire) and maintain AMAP (Approved Medication Administration Personnel).
- The ability to assist with lifting and transferring a person.
- Ability to communicate and understand in English; both verbally and in writing.
- Clean valid NYS driver’s license.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding, to carry out detailed written or oral instruction. Ability to deal with practical problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to coach and counsel, interpret and advise, and the ability to develop and present to professional forums
Schedule: Mon-Fri 8a – 4:30p
Salary Range: 20.56 - 21.56
Some programs/locations may have a differential in addition to the hourly rate.
