In this role, you will support Special Education Teachers in providing individualized assistance to students with diverse learning needs in both classroom and therapeutic settings. Your commitment will make a significant difference in the educational experience of our students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the delivery of instructional activities as outlined by the Special Education Teacher
- Provide one-on-one support to students, helping them to engage and succeed in their learning environment
- Help manage classroom behavior and promote positive interactions among students
- Support the implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Assist with student assessments, data collection, and record-keeping
- Collaborate with teachers and support staff to create a supportive and effective learning atmosphere
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in Education or a related field preferred
- Previous experience working with children, particularly in special education settings, is a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other professionals
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help students succeed
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques is beneficial
